Midsummer’s Music Ltd. Endowment Trust Fund
Now in its 26th season, Midsummer’s Music Festival brings world-class musicians to Door County for chamber music concerts. Jim and Jean Berkenstock – principal orchestra players with Chicago’s Lyric Opera – founded the organization in 1990 with only a week’s worth of performances. The Festival’s acclaimed concerts now run mid-June through mid-July and mid-August through Labor Day, plus two annual Pro Arte concerts and mid-winter holiday concerts.
Each year, professional musicians, independent artists, and university faculty members from across the country gather to play in such intimate settings as galleries, churches, museums, resorts and private homes throughout the peninsula. Concertgoers hear works from masters including Mozart, Schubert, and Dvořák along with contemporary, very accomplished composers. Each concert is a fun, radically appealing musical experience that shatters the genre’s traditionally stuffy, elitist reputation!
Concert ticket prices supplement only a portion of our annual expenses, making tax-deductible donations and other forms of support critical to the organization’s enduring sustainability. Join us and experience the magic of Midsummer’s Music Festival.
